For years now people have been playing music daily while working, studying and exercising. Many people question what the benefits are of listening to music and so did we. This is why we went exploring to come up with answers to the benefits and cons.

To begin with the benefits, Music that is soothing and relaxing and can help students to beat stress or anxiety while studying. This point has been proven during a recent science test were children who were both at the same level listened to music and on the other side did`nt listen to music. The children who did listen to music completed their work faster by four minutes than the child he did'nt. Background music may improve focus on a task by providing motivation and improving mood. During long study sessions, music can aid endurance. In some cases, students have found that music helps them with memorization, likely by creating a positive mood, which indirectly boosts memory formation. Music can help your brain absorb and interpret new information more easily.

On the other side opposite to the pros music can distract you while working. We asked one of our good friends what they think about listening to music and they responded by saying that music makes you procrastinate more. They also came up with a good point saying that your brain can't funtion with two things at once. Music however may impair cognitive abilities when you're trying to memorize things in order, because you may get thrown off by the changing words and notes in your chosen song.

What do you think? Is music good to listen to while working?
